About this ribbon

Retroactive qualifying service begins 1 July 1925. Required period was four years through 31 December 1995 and three years from 1 January 1996; predecessor names do not create separate ribbons.

Catalog associations: Marine Corps. Current award reference. Branch associations are browsing guidance; other service awards may also appear in a veteran’s record.

Service years and award dates

Years help surface possibilities. A date overlap does not show that someone earned an award. Some date rules describe completion, specific operations or retroactive eligibility, rather than a universal service window.
