Natick verifies initial 1 August 1981 qualifying-service start and 10 April 1981 establishment. Its old noncombat-only wording is superseded by current AR 3-20 (GWOT exception from 11 September 2001; C/R devices from 7 January 2016).
Service years and award dates
Years help surface possibilities. A date overlap does not show that someone earned an award. Some date rules describe completion, specific operations or retroactive eligibility, rather than a universal service window.
| Dates | What the source says |
|---|---|
| Aug 1, 1981 – End not specified | Natick's criteria specify service or achievement on or after 1 August 1981; current AR 3-20 verifies the award and later combat-theater and device policies. Source ↗ |
